Anna had prepared for every possible interview question. She had researched the company, practiced her answers in front of the mirror, and even rehearsed her handshake.
What she had not prepared for was the cat.
The interview was online. Everything was going perfectly — until her cat, Biscuit, jumped onto the desk, walked slowly across the keyboard, and sat directly in front of the camera.
There was a moment of silence.
"That's Biscuit," Anna said carefully.
The interviewer — a serious-looking man in his fifties — stared at the screen. Then he leaned forward. "Does Biscuit have any weaknesses?"
Anna blinked. "Excuse me?"
"You said you handle pressure well and work efficiently in teams. I'm curious if the cat shares these qualities."
Anna looked at Biscuit, who was now licking his paw with great focus. "He's more of an independent worker."
The interviewer smiled for the first time. "We'll be in touch."
She got the job.
