Tom heard a knock at his door on Saturday morning. When he opened it, he saw a young woman holding a box of cookies.
"Hi! I'm Lisa. I just moved in next door," she said with a big smile.
Tom was surprised. His neighbor for the last ten years, Mr. Brown, had moved away last week. "Oh! Welcome to the building. I'm Tom."
Lisa handed him the cookies. "I baked these for you. Moving is hard, but a good neighbor makes everything easier."
Tom smiled. He hadn't had homemade cookies in years. "Thank you, Lisa. Would you like to come in for some coffee?"
"I'd love that," she said.
That afternoon, they talked for two hours. Tom realized that change is not always bad. Sometimes, it brings something wonderful.
